Description
RMS Titanic was built for the White Star Line by Harland and Wolff in the wake of her older sister Olympic. On her maiden voyage to New York, she struck an iceberg on the night of April 14, 1912, and sunk the morning after, with 1,500 lives lost. She sank in 2 hours and 40 minutes. Her sinking resulted in vast maritime safety reforms, and Olympic was immediately altered, gaining a double hull and more lifeboats.
RMS Lusitania was built for Cunard Line, the rival to White Star. After several successful voyages, she was torpedoed and sunk by a German U-Boat off the coast of Ireland, with 1,000 lives lost. She sunk in under 18 minutes. Amazingly, Cunard had learned nothing from the Titanic disaster.
In 1916, Titanic's younger sister Britannic was the last of the beautiful four-funneled ships to sink to a watery grave. She was converted into a hospital ship shortly after launch, and was sunk in the Aegean Sea on her 6th voyage by a mine or torpedo. Only a handful of lives were lost, due to a tactical error by the crew.

All of them met a sad fate
Titanic was flawed from the start (bad rivets, a fire in one of the engine/boiler rooms that burned for days, Mr. Ismay choosing style over safety with the number of lifeboats and insisting the ship continue at full speed despite the obvious danger in the area, etc.) and really should've been condemned as unsafe
Lusitania was a casualty of war; everyone who bought a ticket should've known they were taking a risk
Britannic was an accident; nobody can predict a collision with an underwater mine
